Today, Bob “Kingpin” Eres spoke to Bob Oettinger of the International Baseball Association about his group’s ambitious plans to bring a new kind of baseball academy to a country where baseball is the national passion. That country is Nicaragua, which is also known to be the safest country in Central America.
What prompted Bob and his group to make the decision to build there was the sheer love of the game they saw among the kids in this impoverished nation. What sets the planned academy apart is that the kids chosen to attend the academy will receive a quality formal education, as well. The academy has the support of ex-Major League players like Reggie Smith & others here in the U.S., as people within Nicaragua. For funding purposes, there will be opportunities for corporate sponsorships and events that will bring in kids from the U.S. for tournaments and training. The facility is beautiful and adjacent to the ocean and a resort. Definitely watch today’s show to learn more about what’s planned at this new kind of baseball academy!
